Knights seek to strengthen men and their families in the Catholic faith. Formation in our faith goes beyond mere facts or religious practice to an authentic connection with a loving God and his son Jesus Christ.
Fifth Saturday Rosary.
Our Council participates in the Fifth Saturday Rosary. Knights are encouraged to attend to lead or join the congregation in praying the Rosary after the 4:00 pm Mass in the Church Chapel.
First Friday Mass and Holy Hour with Adoration.
Our Council supports the parish’s First Friday Mass and Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. All available Knights are encouraged to attend Mass beginning at 5:30 pm, followed by Holy Hour with Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament at 6:00 pm in the Church. This is the first Friday of every month.
Corporate Communion.
Knights join together for a Sunday Mass at least four times each year to share worship and fellowship.
Additional Faith programs will include a retreat day to the Carmelite Monastery, the RSVP Seminarian Support Program, and the “Icon of the Sacred Heart,” which will be touring Florida this year.
Father McGivney sought to strengthen the bonds of families in his parish and the Knights of Columbus. His vision for family life was centered on spiritual strength. These programs, created for families by families, help us to live this call.
Family of the Month.
We recognize a strong and vibrant Catholic family each month at Mass. A Family of the Month is chosen and is presented before the congregation at the end of Mass by the Grand Knight with recognition of their love of God and contributions to our Parish.
Consecration to the Holy Family.
This prayer program invites each family of the Parish to consecrate themselves to the Holy Family. It is held during the Christmas Season.
Keep Christ in Christmas.
We promote the true family spirit of Christmas in our homes, schools, and community. The Knights support the Christmas Festival in December.
Lenten Friday Dinners.
We bring Parish families together to eat a fish dinner during each Friday of Lent, to further their understanding of Lent and the Triduum.
Knights are called to serve others. Our first principle is Charity – at home with our families and in our communities. When Knights of Columbus members come together, they accomplish great things.
Blood Drives.
We sponsor Blood Drives one Sunday each month in the Parish parking lot on the One Blood Red Bus to support our community blood supply. Our Council’s monthly goal is 14 pints, with a total goal of 90 pints for the Fraternal Year.
Habitat for Humanity.
We support the building of homes for families in need. Each month, out Council meets at the worksite the third Wednesday of the month. We contribute at least 20 hours for each month, with the goal of 200 hours for the Fraternal Year. Our Council spends many hours working on the home has been recognized and thanked for its contributions.
Community Veterans.
We support monthly outreach to our veterans who reside in our local Veterans Nursing Home and seek fellowship from our community. We spend at least one morning each month playing playing BINGO and sharing conversation with our veterans.
Coats for Kids.
We collect outerwear and donations for children who need warm clothing during our cooler months.
Garden Club.
Knights support the Garden Club. We meet the third Saturday of each month to assist in maintaining the Parish grounds.
Social Services.
Knights support the Parish Food Pantry and Like New Thrift Shop. We assist in staffing and obtaining donations for both ministries.
Breakfasts, Coffee and Donuts.
Our Council sponsors several Pancake Breakfasts throughout the year, one Sunday each month. We prepare and serve the meals in the Parish Hall. Knights serve Coffee and Donuts every Sunday after all Masses in the Parish Hall. It provides an opportunity for parishioners to experience fellowship with one another.
The Knights of Columbus vigorously defends the dignity of each human being at every stage of life.
Special Olympics.
We support the Special Olympics throughout the Fraternal Year. There are events held in our community, where we participate with various aspects of the programs to support the participants and the organizers.
Pregnancy Crisis Center.
We participate in sidewalk counseling outside the Pregnancy Crisis Center. We hope to change hearts and minds about abortion by providing spiritual support to the mother.
Ultrasounds.
We endeavor to save lives by empowering women to see their unborn children with ultrasound technology.
Citizens With Disabilities Campaign.
Also known as the “Tootsie Roll Drive," we support solicitation outside of many of our businesses to collect monies for children and adults with disabilities. We use the donations to fund programs and facilities who serve individuals and families.
Right to Life.
Knights annually support the Parish's March for Life, showing our public support for the right to life. We also are supporting voter education on Florida Ballot Amendment 4 (Abortion Access), which is opposed by the Florida Conference of Catholic Bishops. We participated in a Prayer Service with Adoration followed by a Pro-Life discussion.
